Hamlet is the Prince of Denmark, a student at Wittenberg University. At the beginning of the play, Hamlet’s father, King Hamlet, died recently. Polonius is a Lord Chamberlain at the court of Claudius, the father of Laertes and Ophelia. He has good intentions, but he tends to be a bit forgiving and dissatisfied.

Polonius often jumps to wrong conclusions, and his speech is funny and lengthy. He was completely incapable of figuring out what Hamlet was doing.


Ophelia is the daughter of Polonius, a beautiful young woman. Hamlet has been in love with her. Ophelia is a cute and naive little girl who dutifully obeys her father and her brother Laertes, allowing Polonius to use her to monitor Hamlet in his plans.

After her father’s death, her sanity collapsed, frantically painting a grim picture depicting young people’s sexual exploitation and infidelity. And her crazy comments about flowers obscured Claudius and Groot German condemnation.


Horatio is one close friend of Hamlet who studied at the University of Wittenberg. Hamlet trusts Horatio more than any other character, and he evaluates him with his temper and calmness that seems to be dismissive of himself.

Horatio was loyal and helpful to Hamlet throughout the play. After Hamlet’s death, Horatio is still alive, telling the story of Hamlet.
